Topstall Farm is a llama and alpaca farm located in Western Washington in the Seattle Tacoma area. The property was previously home to a dairy farm in the 1940s and served as a haven for rescued horses in the 80s and 90s. In April of 2021, Topstall Farm opened as an agritourism destination which offers alpaca fiber based products, as well as, farm encounters that include farm tours, llama walks, llama packing day trips and educational engagements.
Marla’s journey with camelids started in 2020 when she met her first alpaca, Eddie. The adoption of Eddie triggered a series of events that led Marla to CAMELIDynamics and her mentor, Marty McGee Bennett. Learning Marty’s science-based approach to caring for and interacting with camelids inspired Marla to create a program that allowed people to interact with llamas and alpacas that honors how these gentle animals experience their environment. For Marla, it has become a dream come true to be able to move from her previous career as a software development professional to a new chapter as the operator of Topstall Farm where she has the privilege to provide positive camelid encounters for both the animals and visitors to the public.
